CASE Awarded NOAA Fisheries Essential Fish Habitat Support Task Order for the Pacific Islands Region

CASE Consultants International (CASE) has been awarded a new task order under NOAA’s ProTech Fisheries 2.0 contract to provide dedicated Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) consultation support to NOAA Fisheries’ Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO).

CASE will support federal regulatory activities across Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Islands Region. Services include reviewing technical-assistance requests and proposed federal actions; determining whether EFH consultation is required; identifying affected management unit species, life stages, EFH, and Habitat Areas of Particular Concern; evaluating activity-stressor-effect pathways and scientific information; and preparing effects assessments and conservation recommendations.

CASE will also support early coordination with federal action agencies, review agency responses to conservation recommendations, coordinate shared information across EFH and Endangered Species Act Section 7 reviews, participate in EFH workgroups, maintain consultation records, and provide quality assurance and reporting.

“Our team is honored to continue supporting NOAA Fisheries’ mission in the Pacific,” said Liz Tarquin, CASE President and CEO. “With Oʻahu-based executive leadership, direct PIRO experience, and deep fisheries and regulatory expertise, CASE is well positioned to provide responsive, locally informed support for the Region’s important marine habitats and fisheries.”

This award expands CASE’s growing portfolio of scientific, regulatory, and stakeholder-engagement support to NOAA Fisheries across the United States and its Pacific Islands territories.
