CASE Consultants International is building a team of talented scientists, engineers, and technical professionals to support NOAA Fisheries’ Southeast Fisheries Science Center. Our team works alongside Federal researchers conducting fisheries surveys, marine mammal and sea turtle conservation, habitat mapping, artificial intelligence applications, coral restoration, genomics, and ecosystem science throughout the Gulf of America, Atlantic, and Caribbean.

Position Overview:

CASE Consultants International is seeking a Marine Laboratory Scientist to support NOAA Fisheries’ Deep Sea Coral Laboratory in Galveston, Texas.

Working alongside NOAA scientists, you’ll help maintain one of the nation’s premier facilities dedicated to the culture, propagation, and restoration of deep-sea corals supporting endangered species recovery and restoration throughout the Gulf of America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain recirculating marine life-support systems

  • Culture and propagate deep-sea coral species

  • Monitor water quality and animal health

  • Conduct laboratory experiments supporting coral restoration

  • Maintain biological inventories and scientific databases

  • Assist with specimen collection aboard research vessels

  • Analyze coral growth and health data

  • Support scientific publications and presentations

  • Help develop innovative coral husbandry techniques

Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Marine Biology, Aquaculture, Marine Science, or related field

  • Experience with coral husbandry or marine aquarium systems

  • Knowledge of water chemistry and aquatic animal care

  • Laboratory research experience

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Interest in endangered species recovery and marine restoration
