CASE supports Sustainable Aquaculture and Species Protection Across Alaska’s Marine Ecosystems

Asheville, NC | October 1, 2025 — CASE Consultants International (CASE), a woman-owned small business and HUBZone-certified firm, is proud to announce its first Prime contract award under NOAA’s ProTech Fisheries 2.0 professional services vehicle. Under this multi-year task order, CASE will provide end-to-end support to NOAA’s Alaska Regional Office Protected Resources Division (ARO PRD), advancing sustainable aquaculture development while safeguarding protected species across Alaska’s marine and coastal environments.

This milestone award affirms CASE’s growing leadership within the NOAA ProTech community and highlights the firm’s deep bench of regulatory, ecological, and policy experts trusted to meet NOAA’s most complex consultation mandates.

Under the contract, CASE will support the full lifecycle of ESA, NEPA, and MMPA reviews for aquaculture projects and other federal actions, including the preparation of Biological Opinions, Environmental Assessments, and Essential Fish Habitat analyses. The team will also maintain NOAA-compliant administrative records, coordinate closely with federal and Tribal partners, and ensure science-based, culturally informed decisions that protect the resilience of Alaska’s marine ecosystems.

“This award represents a proud moment for CASE and a testament to the quality and dedication of our team,” said Liz Tarquin, CEO of CASE Consultants. “We’re honored to take on a leading role in supporting NOAA’s mission in Alaska, and we look forward to delivering high-quality, responsive, and collaborative services that promote both ecological stewardship and sustainable aquaculture.”

CASE has a long track record of successful NOAA support contracts across the Pacific Islands, West Coast, Southeast, and Northeast regions. This ProTech Fisheries 2.0 prime award marks a new chapter in the firm’s growth and continued commitment to excellence in marine science, policy, and permitting.
